Powlett Street.

Project: Raised Pedestrian Crossing

Amaroo Civil delivered a new raised pedestrian crossing on Powlett Street, adjacent to Broadford Primary School, for Mitchell Shire Council.

The project formed part of the TAC Safer Local Roads and Streets Program and was designed to improve safety, connectivity and accessibility for students, residents and pedestrians.

The works included demolition and earthworks, drainage upgrades, pavement construction, kerb and channel, concrete footpaths, tactile indicators, asphalt surfacing, solar lighting, line marking and signage. Construction was carefully programmed around the school holiday period to minimise disruption to the adjoining school and local community.

Amaroo Civil coordinated traffic management, pedestrian access, resident notifications and daily road reopening requirements to complete the works safely and efficiently within the restricted construction period. The completed crossing provides a safer and more accessible connection for the school community and surrounding residents.
